INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS (BA 10)

This class is for anyone interested in business.

Description:

BA 10 is a survey course designed to introduce students to the business discipline. Topics include the functional areas of business: accounting, entrepreneurship, marketing, management, finance, economics, information systems, investing, and operations.

This class is for anyone who interested in managing a medium-sized to large corporation.

Description:

BA 15 is an introduction to the primary management functions, including strategic and tactical planning, decision-making, organizational design and systems, leadership, motivation and communication, and internal control systems.

BUSINESS AND THE LEGAL
ENVIRONMENT (BA 18)

This class is for anyone interested in the legal aspects of running a business.

Description:

BA 18 introduces students to the legal framework businesses operate in. Case studies and current events are emphasized to connect the classroom to the "real" world.

COLLEGIATE ENTREPRENEURS ORGANIZATION (BA 27)

This class is for anyone interested in networking or getting more connected in the Business Program.

Description:

CEO is an entrepreneurship club that also counts as a class (you can earn credits while taking part). The CEO club focuses on networking, hands-on business development, project management, and other endeavors that new entrepreneurs benefit from. Appropriate for all levels.

IN BUSINESS (BA 33)

This class is for anyone interested in understanding themselves and building great relationships.

Description:

BA 33 offers students the unique opportunity to work on relationships while learning about what it takes to be successful. Emphasis is placed on goal-setting, best practices in life, and on building habits that lead to success.

FUNDAMENTALS OF
INVESTING (BA 34)

This class is for anyone interested in specific investing vehicles.

Description:

BA 34 introduces students to investing strategies and tools. Topics include: stocks, bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, risk, dollar-cost averaging, value investing, technical analysis, and more.

This class is for anyone interested in managing a small business or growing their own business.

Description:

Operations of a Small Business focuses on growing the business after it is launched. Topical areas include marketing, competitor analysis, business planning, building business systems, and everything else a growing business needs. Appropriate for all levels; including those who currently own a business.

PERSONAL FINANCE (BA 30)

This class is for anyone interested in taking control of their money and building wealth.

Description:

BA 30 covers the many areas of household spending, and helps students create a plan for financial success. Areas of study include: saving, investing, insurance, purchasing automobiles, purchasing houses, and other decisions related to the use of money.

FINITE MATHEMATICS FOR BUSINESS (BA 39)

This class meets the major requirements for students transferring to CSU, Fresno.

Description:

BA 39 covers linear functions, systems of linear equations and inequalities, matrices, linear programming, mathematics of finance, sets and Venn diagrams, combinatorial techniques and an introduction to probability. Applications apply to business, economics, and personal finance/investing.

BUSINESS (BA 47)

This class helps students recognize and understand business career opportunities.

Description:

BA 47 reviews career choices as they relate to income and individual skill sets. It also covers job search skills, resume and cover letter writing, interview techniques, soft skills, and work ethic.

E-BUSINESS (BA 48)

This class is for anyone interested in options for starting an online business.

Description:

Focused on online entrepreneurship, E-business reviews options for starting an online business. Emphasis is placed on accessible business models from an entrepreneur's perspective (no coding experience needed). Enrolling in this course will teach you to start an online business. Appropriate for all levels.

This class is for anyone interested in starting a business or side hustle.

Description:

BA 52 is our flagship course in the entrepreneurship area. Introduction to Entrepreneurship is a widely recognized course for teaching people the nuts and bolts of starting a business. Whether you're an artist, a welder, a creator, or a builder, this course has what you need to help you launch a business. Former BA 52 students have started businesses ranging from wedding photography to Internet startups to restaurants. Appropriate for all levels; including those who currently own a business.

FIELD STUDIES
IN BUSINESS (BA 61)

This class is for students interested in meeting area business leaders and learning about their businesses.

Description:

BA 61 provides opportunities for students to integrate their academic work with experiences in the business community; which is a key objective for Business Administration majors. To achieve this, students will research multiple industries within the business sector and interact with management level personnel in selected enterprises. Learning will occur both in and outside of the classroom.

BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS (BA 5)

BA 5 covers the basic elements of written and verbal business communication. This course teaches students to prepare business letters, reports, memos, and oral presentations used in a business environment. Emphasis is placed on document organization using correct grammar, writing to the desired audience, and creating appropriate tone.

COOPERATIVE WORK EXPERIENCE (BA 19V)

Supervised employment, directly related to student’s major in business. Students may enroll for a maximum of 8 units per semester. Students may earn a total of 16 units in work experience of which only 6 may be in COTR 19G. Note: Repetition of Cooperative Work Experience courses is allowable
